Is RTX 3080 Worth It?
No, despite its higher price point of £966, the GeForce RTX 3080 proves disappointing when purchased new. For a similar price, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti has 57.9% better 3DMark score compared to GeForce RTX 3080.
In the realm of the used market, the GeForce RTX 3080 still maintains decent value for money, but Radeon RX 6800 XT has a 8.7% performance lead over the GeForce RTX 3080. Making it a moderate choice, neither remarkable nor disappointing.
PSU for RTX 3080
Recommended PSU for the RTX 3080: about 900 W — the card draws 320 W, a CPU such as the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X about 105 W, and doubling the total leaves headroom for transient spikes. Pick a unit from a reputable tier of the Cultists Network PSU Tier List.
